NCP drives Parkonomy’s growth!

Parkonomy has signed a new tie-up with the UK’s number one car park operator, NCP.  The new partnership is part of a planned and expanding collaboration between both businesses, and represents the largest expansion to date for Parkonomy.

NCP is the leading car park brand in the UK with a portfolio of over 550 sites across the length and breadth of the nation.

Head of Business Development at Parkonomy, Jim Harrow, confirms this first step along the way towards a significant partnership: “We’re thrilled that NCP have agreed to join the Parkonomy family. Not only are they far and away the largest car park operator in the UK, but their name is a byword for trustworthy, high-quality service, and for them to have this level of confidence in us means a great deal. We are eagerly awaiting full integration with NCP’s core system in Q1 2016, but just having the ability to allow our customers to connect with them in the meantime is fantastic.”

Parkonomy does not require customers to display any tickets or print-outs in their vehicle as proof of their parking session.  Its website is fully optimised for mobile devices, and bookings can be made anytime, anywhere.  For some car parks, this will also allow the booking of a specific car parking space, as well as making payment, although this will vary enormously, depending on whether the car park has high frequency use or is occupied at lower capacity

What really sets Parkonomy apart from its competitors is that it does not charge operators for their listings, updates or amendments, providing them with an additional marketing channel, resulting in greatly improved margins, revenue streams and brand loyalty, at no additional cost to them. As the majority of UK car parks are already contained in Parkonomy’s online database by default, operators are not even required to create their listings from scratch.  Parkonomy offers its clients an entirely unique level of flexibility, as it allows for real-time control over listings (including tariff prices), either via the Parkonomy website, or by integrating its API (Application Program Interface) with their own website. There is also no commitment on the operator’s part, meaning that should they wish to remove their listings, they can do so at any time of their choosing.

In its first year, hundreds of car parks throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been added to the Parkonomy booking system, operated by leading industry names such as NCP and Q-Park.  It has also seen many firsts for the company, including the introduction of convenient new payment options, airport parking, fully-automated ANPR features, event parking and a corporate permit management system. The company is attending the Intertraffic Amsterdam exhibition in 2016, where they will be showcasing their innovative solution, along with all of their exciting new features, to the European market.
